Hi, I'm Davide Del Gatto.
I'm an Italian web developer who left Porto San Giorgio on the Adriatic coast chasing something I couldn't quite name - freedom, a fresh start, a place that felt like it could be mine. I landed in Cork, fell in love with Ireland, and when my wife Denisa and I found Macroom, we knew we'd found our home.
After settling here, I noticed something that frustrated me: brilliant local businesses - the butcher on Main Street, the craft shop by the castle, the therapist working from a home studio - were practically invisible online. People didn't know what was right around the corner.
So I built Discover Macroom. Not as a side project or a business experiment, but because this town gave me a life I love, and I wanted to give something back. A single, honest directory where every business can be found and every visitor can discover what makes this place special.
